Displaced.

This work reflects on the mass displacement caused by the war in Sudan since 2023. Homes, communities, and familiar landscapes have been left behind as people are forced to flee in search of safety.

THE ARTIST

A Sudanese socio-political artist based in Toronto, whose practice explores immigration, identity, race, displacement and belonging through painting. Grounded in lived experience and critical observations; the work brings together figurative imagery, symbolism, and layered narratives to examine the complexities of individual and collective experience. Through this practice, the artist creates space for stories, histories, and perspectives that are often silenced or overlooked.
